Current Projects
- Colonial Revival House
The Landmark Conservancy is seeking to have a county-wide landmark policy adopted by the County Board to save buildings like the 107-year-old Colonial Revival house at 26 W 171 Roosevelt Road.
- Graue Mill Waterfall
Discussions between the Forest Preserve District and the Illinois EPA are on going about the water quality in Salt Creek. The Conservancy arranged for an environmental expert to provide solutions to the water quality issue which do not involve removal of the waterfall. The Conservancy's efforts in this regard are to be helpful to the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County while preserving the picturesque waterfall for the public.
- Support preservation groups in Naperville who seek to save the home at 432 E. Chicago Avenue from demolition. The home is located in the Historic District of Naperville. Our efforts will be to attend Planning Committee meetings in conjunction with Naperville preservation advocates and to support their position. In addition the Conservancy is considering sending a letter to the Editor of the local newspaper regarding the importance of preservation.
- Nomination of the First Congregational Church of Western Springs for the Best Restoration in the competition sponsored by the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation.
